Seasons are changing!

So it seems that Summer is over - and at least this year we have had a lovely summer with lots of sunshine.

Now that Autumn is upon us and the evenings are drawing in, our heating is coming on and the wind and rain is battering our faces.

So here are a few tips to get your skin soft and radiant again.

Tip 1
Treat yourself to a Hydrating Facial to pump moisture into your skin.

Cucumber slices are very cooling for the eyes and help to refresh you.
The old wives tale of cold tea bags is also true - the caffeine left in the tea leaves constricts the blood vessels around the eyes reducing the puffiness we sometimes get there.

Tip 2
Continue using sunscreen.  It is in so many moisturisers available today there really is no excuse!

Tip 3
Exfoliate your skin gently once a week.  This will ensure that old dead skin cells are removed and glowing new cells are on show.

Tip 4
Nourish your skin from within.  A healthy diet full of all the goodness of skin loving vitamins will give you a real head start.

Here's to a gorgeous Autumn

Excited :-D

I am a little bit excited today, as my updated website is just about finished - Yipppeeeeee!!!!

It hasn't gone live yet - with an IT husband reminding me, it does need to be tested, but hopefully over the next few days it will be put out there on the World Wide Web.

So the new website will tell you a little bit about each of the treatments that I do alongside their prices, and includes all of the new treatments that I do.

One of the treatments I am REALLY excited about is the Callus Peel.  This amazing product is applied to hard, dry skin on the heels and feet, left for 10-15 minutes, then removed, leaving behind soft smooth skin ready for the lovely finishing cream to be applied.  And it really works!  Perfect for the flip flop / sandal weather we are enjoying at the moment.

Of course, Shrinking Violet is as popular as ever.  Brides are loving the slimmer feeling and the gorgeously soft skin they have on their wedding day.  Mums of the brides and grooms are loving the Faith Lift facials just before the big day, for a smoother softer face for those all important photos.

Enjoy the sun and have some fun!

Summer is coming!

Well if we believe all of our weather apps on our phones and the weather forecasters on TV we are heading into a couple of weeks of sunshine - Yippeee!

So to keep your skin soft and smooth - remember your sunscreen!!!  A lot of foundations and BB creams have sunscreen added to them, but remember it never hurts to add an extra layer of sunscreen.  It will help to prevent aging of our skin.

Wear your sunnies. Lines by our eyes when we smile are lovely (after all it shows that we are happy people), but if we squint because of the sun they will get deeper and not be quite as lovely.

Drink lots of water.  This will keep you and your skin hydrated from the inside, so you don't shrivel up.

I'm looking forward to walks with my dog Cookie, in the sun, but will make sure I follow my own advice!  I burn easily and lobster face and shoulders are NOT pretty (and are also quite uncomfortable), so I keep my spray on sunscreen in my bag all the time.

So happy Summer guys, and I'll be back up soon with some pretty summer makeup and nails for you.

Loving the Easter nails

Well the Easter Holidays have arrived - YAY!!!

So as my girls have a couple of weeks off school so begins the traditional nail polishing that we always do at the beginning of the holidays.

So bunnies were chosen and the colours. Just a little bit of fun and colour.
Looking cute too, I have put a picture down below, not a great photo but you get the idea.

So, although it is Good Friday, I am still working today, as some of my customers can only make it today. So I will be beautifying and shrinking today (Shrinking Violet body wrap shrinking!) before a chilled evening with my beautiful children and hubby.

Happy Easter peeps.

Our beautiful skin and bodies

As most of you probably know, our skin is the largest organ in the body.  I have had to do a lot of work in Anatomy and Physiology in my work on the skin, as virtually all of my treatments are to do with the skin.

Over the past few days I have come across some really lovely pictures and sayings about skin and thought I might share some of them here, along with some of my views.  They may also be splashed over my Facebook page :-)

Skin is a Mirror of your Habits

Oh how very true!  So many things can damage our skin, cigarettes (wrinkles around the mouth and eyes, dry and coarse skin), sunbathing (dry skin, wrinkles, cancer), excessive caffeine, stress, poor cleansing, poor diet or too much dieting, too much salt, the list is endless!!

So we should all (myself included) drink lots of water to rehydrate our skin from the inside, eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, have a good skin care regime, get plenty of sleep (I wish! I hear you all cry!) and do our best to minimise the bad habits that can prematurely age us.

I have loads more information on this, but don't want to weigh my blog down and bore you all. But any questions, just let me know  xxx

We've earned our tiger stripes -  YAY!

As a Mum we should be proud of our bodies, whatever shape or size.  They have done an amazing job of bringing our babies to life, nurturing them and caring for them.  If the magazines have a problem with real women and their bodies and have to airbrush then that is THEIR problem and NOT OURS.  So there :-p

Which brings me nicely on to my last picture for today

We are all beautiful in our own way and we should remember that.

So hope you enjoy my little ramble for today.

Be gorgeous and happy.

What a boost!

This afternoon I was booked to do a Shrinking Violet and Faith Lift facial.  A new customer who has found me through the internet.

Shrinking Violet is building a following around the UK mainly through word of mouth and individual therapists advertising.  It is a body wrap that really does help shrink you painlessly.  It is also a relaxing and pampering treatment.

Whilst the client is wrapped up and shrinking a facial is a perfect way to help relax you even further.  Make it a Faith Lift facial for the most relaxing way to smooth out the lines and plump up the skin.

My new customer left SO happy as her jeans belt was 1 hole tighter, her skin was radiant and she felt relaxed and a whole lot happier.  The best bit is I know the jeans will feel even looser tomorrow and the next day.

The best bit about my job is making people feel better about themselves or just better.

What is your favourite treatment at the moment?

Hi Peeps,

So many people ask me this question, I thought it could be the subject of this blog.  Really though, it could go on forever - everyone has their own preference!

There is so much happening in the world of beauty at the moment this is a really difficult question to answer!

CND have brought out the amazing Brisa Lite Smoothing Gel, to use with or without Shellac.  Shellac is still growing in popularity with its instantly dry finish that lasts SO much longer than a standard polish manicure, now with this smoothing gel under it will be smoother and even longer lasting - perfect for ladies with soft, bendy, flaky, or weak nails.

The AMAZING Shrinking Violet body wrap is becoming much better known now as well.  This wonderful oil, helps to break down fatty acids inside your fat cells to give a lasting inch loss.  As an added benefit the oil itself leaves your skin satin soft too, and of course you get a mini massage as it is applied so a little extra pampering for yourself.

Faith Lift!!!  Wow Oh Wow!!!  A facial that leaves the skin smoother, more lifted, more glowing and is organic too, a total Win-Win for me.  I have no idea what the secret ingredient is though, the creator of this wonderful mask (Tibby Olivier) is not divulging it any time soon :-(

Then as ever massage is a really favourite treatment as it helps you relax and your body rejuvenate itself, and a pedicure really helps your feet relax so you feel as if you are walking on air, lovely.

I will start uploading photos and videos of treatments soon, for your enjoyment.

My very first blog - EVER!

Wow - I finally have a blog to post on!

So future blogs may be about new treatments and products I am researching for my business, or they may be about fabulous days that I have had.

I will do my utmost not to offend anyone, as I truly believe that we should treat others the way that we would want to be treated.

Life is too short to spend it being mean and spiteful, little acts of love and kindness go a long way to make everyone's day/week/year/life happier and more meaningful.

So here's a little cupcake for everyone to start the ball rolling.

See you all soon.
